For HOT MESS, Wendy Taylor will present a composition of ceramic vessels.
These clay slab constructed works are influenced by elements of the built environment, particularly the geometric forms of mid-century modernism. Formally they play with positive and negative volumes, using cut outs, indents, shadow and spacial concepts. The work is sculptural as well as functional, seeking balance between the architectonics of material and tactile intimacy.
Originally from the UK, Wendy Taylor has been based in Berlin since the 2000s. She holds a BA in Fine Art. Her ceramic practice moves between hand-building and wheel throwing, exploring texture, tone, and form.
