For HOT MESS, Michelle is presenting two artworks: an animation of a shot of a river, with an alchemical machine that turns stars into fish, and a painting.
Michelle’s work explores themes of femininity within the realm of magical realism. She seeks to give space to a higher reality of emotion, intuition, and magic through ethereal images that challenge rationality. While studying architecture, in New York City, she developed a passion for light and space, which she pairs with an interest in the allusive cultures of Latin American mysticism.
