For HOT MESS, Mara Fortunatović presents the installation Pando, a discreet composition of suspended metal sticks.
Fortunatović’s often minimal oeuvre explores the tensions between materiality and immateriality, gesture and non-gesture, the visible and invisible. It is a conceptual and formal suspension which aims to create shadows of doubt in the viewer as a means of soliciting attention and inquiry. From puns to trompe l’oeil, Fortunatović’s titles and techniques flirt with both humour and art historical tropes.
