For HOT MESS, Anna Nezhnaya will be presenting three artworks featuring neon glass tubes.
A Berlin based artist from Moscow, Anna Nezhnaya explores the sacral spaces which remain in contemporary life along with the diversity of spiritual traditions in the West and their transformation over the recent decades. With her main field of interest being the non-didactic notion of space, Nezhnaya’s work oscillates between objectivity and abstraction, while exploring identity in the post-internet age and the slippery divide between reality and virtual reality.
Anna Nezhnaya (b. Moscow) makes paintings, light objects and drawings, and is currently based in Berlin. She holds a diploma in Graphical Arts from the Moscow State University for Printing Arts and Graphics, a B.A. Visual Arts / Art History at the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Institut at the University of Greifswald and a MA in the Class of Prof. Christian Frosch at the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Institut at the University of Greifswald.
Recent solo shows include: Circle Culture Gallery, Berlin (2022) and ForA Artspace, Berlin (2021). Her work has been exhibited in group shows at Haus der Statistik, Berlin (2021); ISSMAG gallery Moscow (2021); Schau Fenster Berlin (2021); Luigi Solito Gallery, Naples (2021); Haimney Gallery, Barcelona (2020); MAMM Ecuador (2020).
