For HOT MESS, Allistair Walter will be exhibiting three paintings and one sculpture that enhance the tension between intimacy and isolation. Even though these feelings are topics continuously present in Allistair’s work, these paintings are particularly speaking of a void in time and a process of dissociation from yourself and the outside world.
Through a lens that bends and distorts the perception of reality, these scenes depict fragmented memories, uncanny atmospheres that put the observer in an unusual voyeuristic position and let the audience experience the impression of a moment from a POV perspective as if looking at the subject through the eyes of the artist.
Allistair Walter (b.1994) is a Visual artist with his main focus on painting. Walter studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB) for four years and is currently finishing his studies at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee. He is a member of the 2020 founded artist collective “<3” with whom he will be exhibiting alongside in the HOTMESS exhibition.
